Okay is this insane or what?

I've only had the camera a few weeks... should've guessed I'd use up the battery quick enough... didn't get a spare... and here I am going through withdrawl! Ugh-h-h-h-h-h!

Ah well! I'll get to the store tomorrow and get myself loaded up once again... The weather's been so nice it's all I can do to concentrate on getting anything "practical" done Ha! I mean, gee, how long can it last? Ski hills are opening in BC and snows are falling just a few hours north of here too...

As much as I like to ski and as much as I enjoy the Christmas season I wouldn't miss winter if it waited till January to show up. We shall see.

While doing some work in the garden today - a second coat of stain for the bench and finished up the lane arbour nicely - I thought for sure I heard the Robin family talking in the tree tops next door saying; " with all that crappy weather they've had in the Gulf states do you think we otta head for Colorado or just hang out here and see if it's a mild winter this year?"

It was just the way they were singing, not the bright laugh-like call the male usually booms across the yard... more like little giggles amongst them, the adults and young birds alike... it was an interesting little huddle they were having in the trees around the garden watching me make my winter preparations... They were reminiscing how they, or some other family members, stayed though winter a few years ago and it wasn't so bad... well except for that big freeze in February... br-r-r-r-r!

But it could be wishful thinking ya know - I could be reading a lot into things - (ya think?) and yet those storms do interfere with the normal patterns birds follow - I'll keep you posted - the Robins have stayed before and they may yet again, perhaps they're just waiting for hurricane season to end?

By the way, thanks to all for the nominates - that was very kind. I was surprised at reaching a top blog spot again, wondered once if it's something I'd ever achieve - didn't think enough people knew me here to bother... Thanks again, and for the comments!

More pics - tomorrow I'll load the shots of the trick or treaters I took - some are cute - but first I'm setting an account up at photobucket before I run out of room on my website, so I'll have to maintain two graphics locations, likely keeping mindsay stuff and my site stuff separated! Sorry more information than you need to know but what my next step is still! Later!
