Two For Two on My Headers!
Fun! That's what I use to describe the work I did on a few new header ideas yesterday. Think I'll work up some more, for practice and a variety of perspectives. I think I did alright with both of them and will likely rotate between the two of them for a while until I find another photograph that inspires me to play once again!
Plus I seemed to want to express the magical aspects I come to experience through my garden adventures and find a variety of ways to demonstrate that fun and whimsy for others!
A bunch of reading I've been doing lately touches on reminding us of our magical qualities and the magical qualities of the world we live in. To some people this is boring stuff - too "nicey nicey" or however it's described. But each of us is on our own beautiful path so we can colour it any way we wish - we don't even HAVE TO stay with-in the lines! So while it's not everyone's cup of tea, it truly is mine!
I find I've learned enough about Armegedeon that I don't wish to focus on what appears to be our world spiralling into self-destruction. If we are to survive a third world war at all, the survival bleakness of movies like Mad Max or The Postman is not the aftermath I would envision. The dark side of those thoughts are not for me! For others I see a bleak, sad world if they are content to believe this world as we know it is coming to an end. Some people believe the end of the world as we know it, is prophecy and unchangeable. I choose to believe we are all imbued with creativity and the power of free choice and that humans will rise above the current challenges we face and make the choices that will further our evolution and secure a future that has great promise and potential.
As crazy as our world and many of its' leaders seem; I have faith our sensibilities will prevail. Those who have sat in the side wings of life, believing they have no voice, will begin to speak their truth. Many have learned in the past year that their voice may not be heard by "those in powerful places" but they were heard by their neighbours and friends and human beings around the world who have compassion in their hearts. (Human compassion IS a powerful thing!) And through that many learned to rely on themselves and each other, and others learned they can reach out and help, even if just in small ways. The critical mass of human compassion comes closer to tipping the scales of our world toward a more humane society.
Evolution of the human species doesn't appear to be a pretty sight at times, depending on how you look at it. And yet it is a beautiful thing should we allow it to move naturally to where it needs to be, without interfering with the process through our own stubborness. The natural world around us can provide clues to this process and yet it is difficult to "see" these hints when we are too busy within our own heads sorting out what we're "supposed to be" what we're "supposed to do". In nature, a bee does not stop to wonder "how can I be the best bee I can?", he simply goes about his bee-ness in all his glory. There's no second guessing. There is no need to control him - he goes about his life in service to nature itself and fully immersed in his existence.
Can humans reach this level of development? It seems that is where we need to be, at a level where we accept our humaness and go about our lives being human in all our glory - without "control" from institutions, government or religious groups. Rather, humans should "control" these groups and ensure they are "serving the greater good". Think of a government that is truly "of the people" - where everyone gladly votes for those who will serve in government. And a government designed to honestly serve the people - all the people - not those who bought favours or special attention! Businesses that run their operations to achieve a fair profit - rather than extorting their customers to satisfy share-holder greed and outrageous salary packages. Imagine a world where humans, all humans, are empowered and confident and full of creative energy. We already have the creative energy - perhaps we're just focusing it in less effective places (like deceit, betrayal, fear and greed) and our empowerment will come when each person accepts the responsibility of their humaness and begins raising their voice to be heard in whatever way works for them. Our confidence will grow as we allow our sense of our own empowerment to develop and become more in touch with our own truth.
And all of that is magical in my mind! It is a magical dance occurring in creation! We are evolving - we have been evolving for as long as our cellular reality has existed on this earth - we will continue to evolve and we can embrace and welcome that change. Or not. We can choose to allow the human experience to evolve naturally or we can choose to try to hold time still and deny thirty thousand years of history - deny what we have learned since early human beginnings, deny what we know to be true in our hearts. That denial will create strife in our experience - just as it does now. The result could unleash more natural disasters, because if we refuse to adjust ourselves then nature must adjust around us to maintain balance in the scheme of the natural world. (study weather patterns and how low & high pressure systems inter-relate) The pressures caused will help to incite more anger, anguish and frustration among the people of the world which may lead to war or a similar action.
Yet, magically we can choose to honour our selves and our human family and the natural world itself. We can choose to exercise our own free will and release ourselves from self-inflicted shackles; "I can't do that", "I'm not good at that", "I'm not good enough", "There's not enough", "survival is tanamount", "everyone's out to get me", "nobody loves me", "I am my own island"; shall I go on? These are what some people think of as "points of fact". And yet they are not true in themselves - they are simply opinions coloured by a particular point of view - change the point of view and the statements can change.
And the magic is; approach life with child-like exhuberance - this is simply my opinion. And it works for me, as I learn more - practice more and guide myself - I move through to a better point of view where I am empowered. Where I am more confident and where I can use the creative drive I have to contribute something of myself to the world in which I live. I don't wish to ask for more than that from my human experience, rather I hope to delve into that aspect as much as I can and enjoy the adventure!
It seems this question is being mulled over in the minds of many. I'm surprised at the number of articles and blogs and discussion forum topics that touch on this subject lately. That's why I got the idea of placing something about magic, the magic of nature in my header. It just seemed appropriate! Some people who have been diligently working toward a better world and attempting to help others see the need for change, are feeling stymied or held back. I would say, as my own inner voice continues to say to me; "patience, patience... all in good time, these things will come together - forcing the issue will not promote it, nature needs it's own space and time!" And while few of us are well tuned to the world of nature it only seems "natural" that when we sense the changes coming, "ahead of time...", we become impatient and wish to hurry along the process!
I'll admit it is difficult to watch people harm themselves, be-little themselves and live unsatisfied lives when there are better ways to operate in the natural world. And yet, we must recognize those who do harm themselves or be-little themselves are making choices. They must learn, on their own, that there's a better way, otherwise the understanding that "we create our own reality" just doesn't fully sink in. It's time we moved to the position where they're OK and you're OK and I'm OK and together we can create a beautiful, peaceful empowering environment for all to progress in!
Don't despair, change is in the air! Spring has sprung and nature's next phase of growth has begun! Have faith and trust you will be right where you need to be exactly when you need to be there! That's how nature works. Watch for the magic, little examples of it, encourage it, and celebrate it and welcome it with open arms. Soon you'll wonder how you missed it all before!
