Slow Down, That sense of purpose and passion can sometimes be your undoing...
If you're out to Change The World, take a deep breath and be calm, think carefully before you try to bend or persuade other people about your vision of the world.
Your sense of purpose and passion can sometimes be your undoing...
One of the very hardest lessons I have learned in the past couple years is one of the most important, and the most telling in how we need to communicate with each other; Your truth is JUST that and ONLY that... So while you have a passion in the beliefs you hold dear, that people need to change, that the world is a wacky place, that strawberries really should be purple not red (hypothetical!!!), what-ever it may be you have to remember that each and every other soul on this earth feels that same passion, holds their own truths - whether or not you agree with them.
Now this is where it can get ugly, because from your perspective some people's beliefs may seem disgusting, unfathomable, stupid, petty, sloppy, detestable...(note that these words all stem from a stance of judgement...) Hard as it may be - you, or anyone else for that matter, must allow them to have their own beliefs - they are as entitled to theirs as you are to yours!
Now, if you take that in slowly, as you assimilate what that means you may get a better understanding of why war exists in our world... It is hard to avoid trying to help people "see the light" without trampling over their beliefs, ideals, pet peeves... And when one tramples the "other" is often led to "trample back" or become defensive or angry or frightened and may lash out in word or deed. Now, assuming the assimilation is settling in... In all honesty, Can you blame the "other"? Cetainly not!
And so there it is, recipe for war or discontent or a fight, even between friends or family...
People ho want to "change the world" are such beautiful souls and their convictions are very commendable... But, they get so full of themselves and their purpose, sometimes they forget to honour the "others'" right to exist unmolested!
Now this isn't something one should beat one's self up about - that too is not the place to be, life shouldn't be taken that seriously anyway. We are all learning the consequences of our actions and our thoughts and feelings. Instead over the next couple days try to catch yourself when you're in judgement (using the words or having the thoughts that are judgemental) and then start trying to play a mind game with yourself, look for another way, another word, another idea, with which to "deal with" that particular situation... As best you can be playful with it. The sun won't stop rising if you don't get it right - the world won't self destruct, but you may surprise yourself in finding there are alternative ways in which to cope with difficult situations or people.
And when it comes to trying to "get across" who You are and what You do - find ways to express these things from your life - not by judging what's wrong with the worrd around you or the people you encounter or try to "help". In fact - no one really "needs" help - these are perceptions we hold that aren't completely correct... Still though, people, who acknowledge they are unhappy about an aspect of their lives and seeking assistance might find your words or philosophy helpful to them. From that perspective you can offer, but, should a person choose not to accept that is their choice - it's not against you, it's simply for them...
I've only touched on this, I bet you may find yourself full of more questions than answers - but IN FACT that is the best place to be...
A teacher once, more than once, told me; you will find your answers when you begin to remember the questions to ask.
We, human spirits immersed in nature, know what needs to be done to make this world a better place, to stop war, to end poverty, to BE Love; we simply need to remember our questions - once we do our answers come effortlessly. And they come from within - anything outside yourself - such as my words here or the words of any other person are only pointers along a path that leads to your own divine wisdom.
I wonder if perhaps I might start a course on how to tap into this... It's been on my mind for a week or two now, perhaps people are becoming ready to hear such things so that the process of questioning can begin!
Talk to you tommorrow, have a great night and BE well!
Cheryl
(note to all; this was part of a conversation with a friend, but it is useful to so many and so I am inspired to enter this response as a post. I hope you enjoy it and I welcome your input and insight to what this represents and how it impacts your own sense of the world around you.)
Also, I'm in a bit of a rush so will edit tomorrow if this needs tidying up, and if it does, please accept my sincerest apologies! It's offered in Love and Hope that we can all learn to play together well and support each other in what appears to be "this mixed up world" we live in!
