It was a beautiful day in the garden!
All right!
It was a beautiful day in the garden!
Somehow as I was playing with some simple artwork, experimenting with how different background effects might work...and it got lost to the ethers! Sorry!
Was a cool start this morning and the garden glowed with that "well watered" look!
Temperature 21 C, 70 F, humidity 77%, barometer 102 & steady
sunny with traces of cloud.
The air is so clean and dry today things look brighter - a beautiful light for painting or taking pictures.
I was right with the portulacca, new blooms opened this morning and they're bright and fresh and upright again! Many more morning glories opened today, teh hummingbirds enjoy them. Hollyhocks have been catching their attention some, but the little green male never seems to stay around for too long...Course half the time we don't even realize they're in the garden they move so fast!
Ripped up a patch of bluebells this morning to make room for a new mailbox we'll install sometime over the next week. I'm to stain the post and allow it to set a while before we set up some concrete to stand it in place at the edge of our lane. We're installing a typical rural mailbox, it should look cute and we hope the mail delivery people will enjoy it too! It will save them steps and be easier to stuff than our current mailbox, which is cute but so impractical!
Also started scraping and brushing and scouring the old picnic table, in readiness for a fresh coat of stain! My dad, well-meaning and budget-minded as he is...painted the table with an opaque stain several years ago...I prefer a transparent or semi-transparent stain...it doesn't peel, just fades and wears away and outlasts opaque stains by a couple years. Needless to say that kept me busy today...maybe that's why I lost my first blog - my hands were a bit tired at the time!
I'll aim to get tomorrow's notes in earlier...
though I'll be playing with more background artwork - which I just HAVE TO do...
and that may yet sabotage me...and maybe not...!
Always worth a try - I'd like to make the trip worthwhile!
Have a beautiful day in your garden!
