Got the software for my camera working fine!
Loaded the header last night, don't know if you caught that... Had to do a lot of adjusting before things would "fit" into my blog page properly... Ah.. just more trial and error, no biggie!
So I'll share a few shots with you today... it's too rainy in the garden to bother trying to work or take more pictures.
Thinks out loud... (Darn! I'd really rather be playing with my camera! There's this COOL spider in our greenhouse I'd like to photograph... Maybe he'd make a good theme for a Halloween blog? Hmmmmm! We'll see!)
Got my camera on the weekend and it didn't take me long to learn this little baby takes fabulous shots! Too bad it's been so overcast for days, it should break soon and there might still be some leaves on the trees!
So I have 2 more shots of some crysanthemums, growing in the front meadow, some red, the header is a close up of it, and a huge clump of several plants mixed together; 2 orange, 2 yellow and 2 white.

Red Crysanthemums
These surprised me - I didn't expect them to survive through last winter. Reds usually don't make it, they are less hardy!

Mixed Crysanthemums
I'm thrilled with how well these grew!
This past weekend was the Canadian Thanksgiving holiday. My brother and sister-in-law came to visit for the weekend and we gave them a ride home on Monday. On our ride back we did some meandering along some back roads - always great picture opportunities! Unfortunately it was too dull and cloudy for any good landscape shots, Though I did get some great shots of farms in the region and a few old classic cars we saw along the way!
Of the batch most won't be of general interest but there were a few that were "interesting"; I'll share two with you today.
This following shot was taken North of Fergus, Ontario and East of Mount Forest - In an area of Ontario known for it's high elevation, at least in comparrison to the surrounding area. If we had gone through Mount Forest I could have taken a picture of their sign which reads;
Welcome to Mount Forest - high, healthy and happy. Elevation: 1000(* plus)feet!
(sorry, tried to look up their proper elevation or altitude but can't locate it...it's not much more than 1300 feet, if that!)
Needless to say - it gets pretty windy up that way, most of southern Ontario sits lower and someone, I would suspect the government, is installing large banks of wind turbines...
Yippee! This is technology that makes me smile. Some sanity in an insane world? Sure things look crazy, and topsy - turvy but, sometimes people actually do things that just make sense! Hats off to them all!

New Crops are being planted in Ontario's highlands!
I don't know if area farmers are benefiting from these installations. I do hope so!
While it may seem like an odd thing, wind turbines nestled with the farms, it's appropriate seeing that we are harvesting the wind! And these turbines should be able to co-exist well on land used for crops or livestock. I'm curious whether farmers receive a lease or rental payment for the land or was there an out & out cash payment and a lot of ugly severing of lots? If the farmer is receiving a rental or lease payment that's cool - it would supply regular income they desperately need to offset their costs.

And just for fun... Found this sign in Fergus, Ontario... think they're a little... whacky?
